Thanks for your help Mole HD!
The foam has indeed been pushed back under the storage compartment so after digging it out, it’s now back in place and the jack is resting on it.

view forum post
Aye, it's just a loose rectangular bit of foam block padding...if you have an old sofa cushion or anything like that lying about, just hack a bit off and squash it in there.

The foam block sometimes gets shoved back toward the light fittings or further forward toward the battery compartment, it may well be in there somewhere.

view forum post
Thanks Mole HD, that’s exactly what I was looking for! The boot insert looks great 👍

I have the jack in the bag, but at the moment it’s sitting directly on the earth wires in that cavity when strapped in, as I don’t have the foam underneath. Is it just a soft foam block it should be sat on? If so, I’ll try hunt it down under the boot floor!

view forum post
The jack should be in a bag along with the wheel brace, it should also be held in place by a rubber bungee strap to stop it rattling about once fitted into the cavity. It should also be resting on a piece of grey foam padding to keep it off the wiring...Hang on...I'll go out and take some pics of mine for comparison.

Apologies that my boot insert is in the way, but it's a pain to take out just for the sake of a pic or 2. ...

view forum post
Hello,

Thanks for letting me into the forum. I’ve just moved from an F-Pace to a 2020 MY Discovery 5 and really enjoying it.

I’m hoping you can help with a query, as I don’t have any other D5’s to compare against. When I purchased the car, I noticed that Jack boot cover wasn’t shutting properly and after reseating the jack, I can now get it to close but I’m worried about the fact the base of the jack sits on the earth strap that’s in that...

view forum post
My 2017 SD4 is having intermittent issues with acceleration. Moving off from a stand still it sometimes crawls for a bit until the revs finally build and it gets moving (not fun at a busy junction). Also struggles to accelerate on the motorway sometimes (lots of revs, but no power getting through).

I've had everything serviced (engine, gearbox oil and filter, fuel filter and transfer box oil) and there are no fault codes showing. My usual specialist is at a loss for what to...

view forum post
True, I can see your point... Having regularly travelled in an SUV in Arizona in July/August, the amount of times we've gone back to the car, started the engine, and waited outside the vehicle (in the sun!) before we can all get into the car as the black leather is too hot on bare legs (shorts), I can imagine a solution would really help.

view forum post
_________________
MY23.5 D5 3.0 MHEV Metropolitan Edition – Santorini Black – Ebony Windsor Leather – 21” Style 5025 gloss black wheels – 21” full size spare tyre – Black roof rails – Black side mouldings - Williams Ceramic Coat. Mine is an HSE Luxury and it can with 22”.

I hated them because I wanted AT tires and they don’t exist for 22”

The car came with a second set of rims in 20” that had Goodyear Duratracs in them, so I sold my 22” rims and bought a second identical set in 20” and now have 2 sets of AT tires (summer and winter).

Since my D5 is Orange with the Black pack, I think it looks much nicer with gloss black rims.

view forum post
Yup, Uig is just a Gaelic renaming of the Norse word 'Wick'...which is harbour or a harbour settlement in old Norse. Any place in the UK with 'wich' or 'wick' in it's name (Norwich, Harwich, or even Yarvik... or York as it's modern name) was a Viking port settlement at one time, coastal or river.

If you look around the coastal or river towns in the UK on every side ending in wich or wick...you can see the Vikings got about a fair bit. ...

view forum post
Hi guys, Im a newbee to the D5 forum but have been active on the Disco3, Disco4 and Fullfatrr ones for a number of years now.

Bought myself a D5 last week which has 22's on it and Im really not keen on them. My D4 has defender wheels on it (19';s) and they transformed the ride because of the additional sidewall height

Im about to pull the trigger on some 20's for the D5 and cant decide on the two tone grey/siler or a straight gloss black.
