Hi all
Any help on a fix for my Infortainment screen issue? Screen works and visibly shows Land Rover logo on start up at times, then disappears into the faulty screen as per pics on the thread? Sometimes the Infortainment screen will flash back on then back to pics on the thread? Help pls!

I left my car in Spain stood for a little over 3 months, I’d driven the car from the UK to Spain in April and it drove faultless, I then used it for a further 4 weeks, at the end of may I left the car as we had to fly back to the UK whilst we waited for our visas to come through.

When I got back last week the car started straight away , I did drive it round a little bit but when I got back to the car I got the low battery, I know this can throw up fault codes

Well, that manual extract definitely says Pivi Pro should zoom as well! Keep hassling Land Rover, be great if they issued a fix.

Ahh, i had it on the D4 and found it great, it wasn't bob on but after 10 years you learn how far out it is and accommodate

Folk who live on the main island usually advertise cars that have failed MOT's or end up with 'more than the car is worth' repair bills for dirt cheap on the local Orkney Merkat place on Facebook and the like for those of us on the outer islands...

Most of us who regularly head over to Kirkwall or mainland UK for any reason keep the daily driver car MOT'd and fully road legal for that purpose. There are a few residents who still park their non MOT'd 'island' cars on the pier and take the ferry over to Kirkwall as foot passengers for a bit of supermarket shopping or the odd hospital/dentist appointment. Even with the MOT exemption, there's still a road tax and insurance requirement, same as everywhere else.

No I was referring to the mot exemption.
If you take the Bling Barge to the mainland you are effectively driving it out of its exemption area. Just wondered if there was some exemption extension for a short stay or are you at risk of exposure to the legal requirements of the mainlanders with respect to mot /insurance validity etc ?

No mine is an SI6 petrol beastie, pre pivi pro.

I suspect this difference is more to do with a change in the camera lens that coincided with the change to pivi pro rather than it being the root cause.

Yet another moment of shortsightedness by JLR….why would a vehicle meant to tow ever have a need for precise hitch assist?

If it makes you feel any better, the zoom doesn’t make alignment foolproof. I frequently find the arc of the hitch...

Would I buy one? Probably not. If I really wanted to replace or supplement the Bling Barge for any random reason, I'd lay down the cash for another non DPF 2015 Euro 5 compliant Disco 4 without any hesitation....then I'd blank off the EGR and fit a stainless cat and centre box delete exhaust like I did on my old one.

The Land Rover Discovery 5 is nearing the end of its life. Land Rover has hinted that it might go more down an MPV-type route for the car, to differentiate it from Defender, but that would be a real shame for purists who want a true 4x4 car, with great off-road ability, and the ability to fit the whole family in, and a tonne of luggage, but who don't want to drive, or dislike the styling...

As for your trolley jack bending the step brackets...I usually shove my jack fairly far in right where the inner bolts are...ie, not near the edge where the steps are.

Yes they are way way past the torque setting. They are stretch bolts too on the Brembos. It wasn't an indi though that last had their hands on these bits, it was Land rover

Aye, my front caliper carrier bolts were insanely tight too, way past sensible torque levels. I had to use the breaker bar and my big rattle gun to shift them when I changed the front disks....which reminds me, I've still got the rear disks and pads to replace.

When LR or indy garages replace the disks...they stick the car up on a lift and the...

I tried jacking up under the step brackets spreading the load with a block of wood. It started twisting the step and popped the top off it. So went back to the front wish bone. I was trying to do the front brakes, unfortunately the last ones to do them (land rover) have massively over tightened them. I was looking for somewhere a bit more secure to jack the front end up, so i can get a 4ft breaker bar on it and try to crack the nuts.
They have also done the same with the transfer box...
