Hi Dtac.

I don't think you cleaning the throttle body had much to do with this, if the butterfly valve isn't sticking and the boost sensor isn't chucking out turbo overboost warnings on the dash, you should be fine... From the symptoms you describe, it still sounds suspiciously like a MAF sensor rather than anything mechanically complicated like air leaks, injectors or stuck valves, I looked up the fault codes on your list and it offered this...
Hi guys
I am desperately looking for some help or guidance, the other day foolishly or not cleaned the throttle body out with some carb cleaner since then the engine has been suffering with a misfire or similar. It appears to be only from the bank on the drivers side.
Obd fault codes are:-
P00bf
P2621
P0102
P010c
P0107
I have replaced the throttle body and coded that into the car
Smoke tested the manifolds throttle...

view forum post
As D5's get to 7 years (84 months) old, they usually appear for sale at attractive prices. Mine was very attractively priced for that reason. 7 years old and 75k miles...just on the cusp of timing belt renewal time when I bought it.

The Bling Barge cost me a bit less than a 2016 Disco 4 HSE I was considering to replace my old and hard worked 2015, 285k miles D4. The D4 HSE that caught my eye was in similar condition and mileage (but with tons of after market extras) to the...

view forum post
I have run some silicone along the rubber gasket / glass joint on the inside while applying some outward pressure on the glass to open up the gap a bit. I dropped the front section of the headlining to make it easier to get at. I’ve also run some silicone into the channel between the windscreen and roof. I know that’s not the primary seal but I know part of it has perished and it does contribute to preventing too much water getting to the man seal.

Hi all,

I've recently bought a 2020 D5 HSE Lux in Farallon Black, 41k miles with full LR service history,

Only issues so far, drivers window regulator on the way out, and will hopefully be changed this coming weekend with one supplied by the garage i bought it from and, I haven't been able to find TV in the media source list in the little time I've had available to investigate it's toys.

I look forward to using the forum to ease me into D5...

view forum post
I replaced the water pump and the 2 main camshaft pulleys, the camshaft pulleys aren't really necessary but a pair only cost an extra £125 over the rest of the parts.

That's 3 belts (FP belt, main timing belt and auxiliary belt), a water pump and 2 camshaft pulleys. Besides the idlers and tensioner pulleys, that's about it for a timing belt replacement...

view forum post
Gosh I feel very fortunate that I spotted mine quite early. So far no electrical issues and I think I have the carpets dried out. I removed the kick plate on the passenger side and wedged something under the carpet - keeping an air gap open to help things dry out.

view forum post
I think so, the problem is that it takes forever to get the carpets dry and so it' s difficult to know. At the minute I've taken the dehumidifier out and I just have some kitchen towel under the carpet. It doesn't get saturated but there is still some dampnest there. I think it is from the previous leak. I was going to reseal the windscreen with polyurathane but decided not to. The water shorted out the battery which I have replaced and the SOS system now has a fault, I am assuming that is...

view forum post

It actually has two belts that need replacing.

One timing belt, and then one belt at the back for the HP fuel pump.

Note: on the 3L tdv6, the rear HPFP is also “timed”. It won’t kill the engine if not timed properly, but it won’t run as well as it should.

Hi All,

The car is 8 years old, done 65,000 miles.

I guess I need to replace the timing belt.

Couple of questions:

It's the tdv6, does it only have one belt?

On previous cars I've always bought timing belt and water pump kits, is it a different setup on the disco 5, I can only see kits with one belt, 3 pulleys, no replacement bolts or water pump, which I had expected?

What brand belt is...

view forum post
Hi Everyone, Newbie alert
just acquired 2018 commercial, all good but the tow bar release key is missing, and the Tow bar is deployed, how can I remove to stow away, local independent said to simply remove pin, twist and pull the knob and hey presto!

What pin?

I imagine the tow bar has been in a while and as such some corrosion will have taken place, expect this won't be easy but any suggestions?

Many thanks

view forum post
