Aye, I keep an old self inflating camping mat in the boot just in case I have to crawl around in the muck at the side of the road getting the spare off the D5.

One of these wheel stud extenders certainly helps when sticking the wheel on the car though...

On my factory fit spare tyre on. My former D5, I can’t remember if the spare tyre came up on my display normally, but it certainly popped up if the pressure was low.

TBH a full sized spare it an absolute tw*t to fit at the roadside. I simply wouldn’t try it, especially in the dark and particularly with the crappy jack and wrench they supply.

I’d either call out LR assist to change the tyre or I am favouring the repair kit tbh.

view forum post
The D5 doesn't show the spare tyre pressure on the centre dash TPMS display, at least not on my ancient Bling Barge... it only shows the 4 tyres fitted on the road wheels unlike the D4 which showed all 5 tyres...

I think it'll warn you if the spare tyre pressure is low...but no idea why it doesn't show up on the centre dash along with the other 4. Might be different on a D350, but the full size spare wheel was a standard fitting on the early D5 models and not an optional...

view forum post
So 3 weeks into ownership and i have fitted a spare wheel, seemed quite easy although i thought i had the wrong heat shields, offering them up and i thought way to big will never get them in, tried always around and then 1 just fell in the second was a doddle from there, it is worth getting the 4 nuts that hold the heat shield to the body as they seem to be a strange thread, all the others are standard 6mm, i used 4 bolts on the heat shields and 4 nuts and 2 bolts on the winch, i also used 2...

view forum post
_________________
Series 2A, Series 3, Disco 4 Now Gone Disco 5 Dynamic HSE
