The oil looked worse than it was. There is a light coating inside the pipe and throttle body. The AA guy said it was normal.
As for why the pipe blew off, the only thing i can think of is that the O ring was flat. So i presume it wasn't holding the fitting tight. Why the clip didn't hold i don't know.

All because of an O ring...

Did you find out where the oil on the front of the engine came from and why the boost hose blew off in the first place?

Had a bit of a nightmare this weekend.
late 2018 SDV6 HSE LUX 101250 miles. Driving from Wednesbury to Telford for a weekend event on Friday night. Around 30 mile trip, got around 3 miles from the Telford turning off the M54, and went to overtake. So indicated kicked the box down a gear and the car started kangarooing.
