2017 was the old D5 (It's windscreen failed at 2 years !) This one is a 2020 model - thought they had fixed the issue with the windscreens but obviously not.

No, it remains in the locked position until it is manually reset - even moving off and speeding up will not release the lock - at least that has been my experience.
