As you can see the standard flaps barely cover the width of the tyres, so looked out a set of flappy rally style ones which cover the width of the tyre (285mm wide) Hmmmmm I may end up fitting these instead.

Well they fit on the inside
Was just playing around. Pity were not wider like the defenders flappy ones. It depends on the width of the tyre. Unfortunately I have got the widest ones. Possibly ok of you have 255/265 wide. 275 plus and the tyre overshadows the flap on both sides.
I like the flappy ones, would be nice if the Defender ones fit.
I'm currently flap less at the moment, the standard flaps will be fine for the 19" rim but I'm thinking about upgrading to 21"
And when you take the standard flaps off you will find a hole in the side of the bumper on full view!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any more details to the flappy flaps please

Yes you have a valid point there with regards too the holes in the bumper
Well I could always just bond them onto the original flaps.
Joking aside the LR ones should have been wider too accommodate the tyre width imo. Look like they should be on a FL1 or FL2 as remind me of them as quite narrow. I have brackets in the garage, so I will have a little tinker and report my findings on here. The replacement D5 won't have flaps for this very reason, so will see what happens with the fitting issue.
Mind you with flappy ones they sit lower down and the risk of scrapping or getting ripped off, when offroading. Hence I think the reason the LR ones are an intermediate size for a purpose.

I've no plans to fit mud flaps at the moment, but it will probably the standard LR ones as I do recall reading one of your posts somewhere about series mud flaps and holes.
