Anyone else have and cold induced foibles?
So I took the D5 for a journey out in the snow, and whilst Snow mode worked absolutely fabulous, yet again LR electronics let the car down, again.
Firstly the ongoing saga of the aircon, it either cooks you alive or still the windscreen and other windows mist up! Surely by now LR must have designed and optimised aircon over numerous models, so why is the D5 a nightmare in terms of heating/aircon, providing available fresh air and misting up!?
The various proximity sensors seem to easily ice up and bleep incessantly, so get turned off. How/why no other cars seem blighted by this.
And the most annoying! Keyless locking - why use sensors in the door handles to lock vs pressing a simple button?! Keyless entry worked, but trying to lock the car in this manner not a chance in the cold. Why/how?!
Shame the eclectics/electronics of the D5 let it down so much. When they eventually finish the car, it might be a great car, but the many foibles just infuriate!
By finishing off the car I mean:
* Finishing all the software (including RSE) as it’s a shambles.
* Remodelling the backend, perhaps providing the partial drop down tailgate everyone wanted.
* Altering the rear seats to provide greater vertical drop (raising the roof by 2” would have made things better,)
* Making the RSE touchscreen, especially since the fashion it’s laid out. Why use a remote control?
* Buttons in the boot, why locate whether they’re hidden if the boots full? I would have liked dated at least the lower tailgate button off te trailing edge of the upper tailgate, and perhaps too the other buttons. The tailgate operation button is located well, shame about the others.
So what this shows is whilst perhaps from the front seat forward LR employed someone who 7derstands ergonomics rand aesthetics they certainly didn’t for the rest of the car!
