    Solar attenuating windscreen.

    I had the solar windscreen on the FE and the green/purple tinge was quite noticeable. I specced it on the Hse Luxury but am not convinced they fitted it.

    I do know that Pilkington used too supply the windscreens on the D4, and now the supplier has changed for the D5. Could it be possible that MY17 and MY18 have different glass suppliers, hence am not noticing the green/purple tinge.

    The windscreen looks virtually clear compared too the FE screen. Could anyone who has the solar screen fitted, please send me a photo of the windscreen stamp. I need too know if the solar has different markings too distinguish it from a normal screen.

    This is mine, I have the solar attenuating Windscreen. Was told I had to have it for the HUD.

    Edit: for your information mine is a 2017 vintage

    Thanks Peter, I see we both have the same 3 symbols apart from yours which has the extra Hud one.

    Am not sure what symbol they would use for the solar screen if any too distinguish it??

    Maybe someone who doesn't have a solar screen could post up a photo as a comparison. See if the normal screen has different symbols??

    I was toying with ordering the Hud, but the digital dash works a treat. It's so much easier too see your speed and keep an eye on the sat nav at the same time. Thumbs Up

    Look at the windscreen with a pair of polarised sunglasses, if you still don't see a purple tinge it is unlikely to have a solar attenuating windscreen.

    Mine's got the swooshy sign with the Ear, and the Heated windscreen element pic, Both self explanatory.

    It's missing the swooshy sign with + - signs "for Solar attenuating" i think, Its also mising HUD.

    I had assummed that the + and - were a reference too the solar screen, but was not 100 % sure, hence asked the question on here.

    Yes the heating element (heated Screen) and ear sign (acoustic) are self explanatory.

    I never ordered the HUD either, hence no sign.

    I was a bit concerned that i had not got what i had ordered and payed for.

    Already had 2 mistakes in my order.

    Ticked the box for the electric sunroof and fixed towbar, but ended up with a fixed sunroof and deployable towbar. Luckily i noticed by chance a day before the order was locked down. Otherwise i would not have been a happy chappy.

    Thankfully the rest of the options i ticked are all there. Smile

    Mines the same as yours.Its got HUD fitted

    Not sure if this helps, but attached photo is my solar attenuating windscreen - there is a clear patch to the left of the rear view mirror which I assume is something to do with it?

    Happy to take photo of windscreen stamp tomorrow if that helps.

    Here are two pictures 1 the markings on the screen and the 2nd is the clear section to left of mirror which also appears to right of mirror
    This is probably the easiest way to tell if you have the solar screen Thumbs Up





    Namib Orange 1st Edition with black roof and wheels.

    Jambo / Russell, I was having a look this evening and I noticed the clear patches too the left and right of the rear view mirror. I took a few pics and was about too post them up on here, but you guys beat me too it.

    Well it seems I do indeed have the solar screen, but never found my shades this evening, so I couldnt check.

    Really appreciate everyones help. Smile

    Only other option I have is too put the vin number into Topix, and that should tell me what was fitted at the factory.
