    deployable tow bar

    Thinking of gettinga used hse luxury but none available with deployable towbar. What parts are required to retrofit, I assume its a relatively easy bolt on job. is any reprogramming required.

    The tower is operated from the control panel in the boot and the Infotainment system, so there will be an element of re-programming needed. Not sure you can retrofit a LR one?

    What is on there at the moment ?
    I have a removeable one and it seems to be a bit more substantive than the one I had on my D4 and certainly a lot easier to put on and take off.
    When off, the electrics just fold up under the skirt so nobody would even know I had one.

    I understand it's quite a big job fitting any tow bar to the D5. More so with the deployable one. They are £1k ish when spec'ed from New. Over £2k I think as a add on. What have they quoted you?

    Thanks all and JonM for the superb fitting instructions. It looks do-able, except the programming. ( I dont think IID have a suitable tool yet for the 5 ) Its obviously a substantial bit of kit, but the parts seem readily available and for under £1000. so beats even the factory option (which obviously isn't an option on a pre-owned disco). Any suggestions for programming??

    Just my tuppence worth but I think if your not too bothered about the appearance of the tow bar spoiling the rear end, the easier option would be too fit either the fixed or detachable tow bar. Both are significantly cheaper than the deployable. As far as I was made aware by the dealer, neither require any programming /CCF files changed, apart from the deployable.
