    Projected Residuals

Interesting take on the potential residuals

Maybe I can grab a couple more options.

The first year of production will hold it's value well as LR will not be throwing them down the production line but as soon as production is ramped up.................. also once new customers have suffered Land Rover's abysmal Customer Care after a few problems occur to those cars then values will plummet.

Your own experiences of course vary but after years of supposedly uber reliable German cars with great residuals, in one 1st Gen RRS and two D4's I have had nothing but great service even the one time I needed LR Assist. The residuals have outperformed anything German and if the current generation RR Sport is good for comparison they should be solid and not plummet, not sure any recent models have done that, at least after a year.

    Old thread...

I've just purchased a 17 plate HSE with less that 15,000 miles, for nearly £25k less that list price new. When looking, 16 plate Landmark D4's were not much less. There are loads of D5's on LR approved used site.

Whats going on? I thought Discoverys had mega residuals. Diesel uncertainly or is the D5 just not popular?

    Interested in your thoughts...

Is that a 2L or 3L? I can see a whole bunch of used Disco's on auto trader and the values make me a bit depressed having ordered mine new Sad

I hope they are better at year 2/3 as I am hoping I can change at that point.

On the other hand if you compare BMW X5s for example, they are far worse

    Ah sorry, yes, 2L

There seem to be a load of LR fleet cars for sale....

There is a new X5 out now though....so BMW dealers are offloading. Interestingly, older XC90's are more expensive that D5's. £5k ish in some cases.

At least the D5 is still early in it's life and will be the same (ish) for quite a few years yet.

Yes agreed X5 is hit by the new one coming out. Strange I didnt see any XC90s that high. Just quick browse showed most start below £38-39k and up for a 17 plate however on comparison a 17 plate D5 command £41-42k and higher

    I coudn't see a decent spec XC90 for under £40k near me....

I looked at X5 and X6. But with the X5 change this year, and a new X6 next year, with that amazing new dash, it's just not worth it if you intend the keep the vehicle long term.

    Underwhelmed by the new Merc.

So a second hand D5 looks great value.
