    Oil service: please explain

    Took a picture last week:


    Didn’t touch the car for a week, zero extra km done and new service interval went down with 450 km... very interesting these new D5’s !



    Am I missing something ?? Or is this too much for words?

    Before some smart guys tell me the car was running idle, I was abroad and no one touched the car as in the garage and I had the keys with me...

    I suspect there is a timer function in there as well. My car was delivered with only 15000 miles to Oil Service despite having only done 6 miles. Others report nearer 16000 miles at delivery. My car had sat at the dealers for 3 and a bit weeks after the PDI which ties in with my timer theory. I reckon if you don't drive it at all it might go from 16000 to zero in 12 months! Rolling with laughter

    Cant wait for GAP Diagnostic to finish work on the IID Tool support for the L462 series then we can hopefully see exactly wat is going on with the Oil Service counter. When I talked to them last month the timescale was 'a few months' but in IT terms that doesn't really mean anything.
