To replace the Q5??
I knew it was a bad idea to take my wife to the dealer with me. So I have a D5 HSE Lux on order and due to be built next week. This is replacing an X5 40d M Sport. My wife has an Audi Q5 and as it's now three years old and out of warranty, we have decided to replace this too.
We had a look at the Discovery Sport and I did really like it but we don't really need two 7 seaters and I'm not sure on the rear end styling. We had a look at the F-Pace but I actually think I prefer the Discovery Sport.
So the shortlist is
Discovery Sport td4 HSE
Tiguan 2.0TDI R Line
X3 M Sport
Wait for the Velar and maybe I use that and give my wife the D5.
I had no idea this was going to be an expensive half-term.
I know this is a forum of Land Rover fans but I'm just wondering if anyone has any informed views/opinions on the above. Am I right to assume that the Velar will be priced around the same mark as the F-Pace or will there be a hefty premium?
When I'm not in the operating theatre, I'm mountain biking, spending time with my family, running and socialising. I have a Discovery 5 HSE Lux with pretty much every option ticked. This is my first ever Land Rover. Been a rocky road with regards to reliability but we're getting there.

Went into the dealer on my way home tonight, looked at a Discovery Sport HSE Lux Dynamic with rear entertainment etc. On the road price £58k. Might just be me but I don't feel that the Discovery Sport can command such a price. So, going to wait to see what the Velar has to offer, if not I think it's going to be something from Germany again to replace the Q5.

That's a bit steep for the DS, especially when you can get a reasonable well kitted out D5 for less.

That's what I thought. Although I can't see us with two D5's on the drive.

It will be a Velar!! my wife will have the D5. The dealers have pre-launch information and can take deposits now. It's a no brainer, I can have a mid range one for the same price as a top spec Discovery Sport.

Makes sense, if the Velar offers Full Fat Range Rover levels of quality then it's a bargain at Disco Sport money. It looks a nice car, I think it could be the must have car of 2017.

Came up with a bit of a dilemma on this one. We have ticked just about every option on the D5 so unless we do the same with the Velar, it's going to feel like it's lacking in some areas. Once you add those extras onto a Velar it's silly money. So, I know it's a swear word on here, but we have done the deal this morning on a Macan to replace the Q5 with. The dealer wanted my Q5 and they had a cancelled order (or so they said) which was spec amendable until Tuesday next week. Due at the end of April.

Yes, there are 15+ pages on the RRS site about how the cost of the Velar goes through the roof when you spec together a decent spec.
