I asked this question when my second Freelander was taken back with a very minor, but incurable, misfire.
I was told (by a very honest dealer) that cars with issues like this were simply sold on and “in most cases the new customers never report the same fault”. I see that it stayed with the next owner for several years, so they were probably right

I hear what your saying, i pity the poor sod who's gonna end up with mine. Structually it's sound, theres not a squeek or a rattle, everything works except the the fact that it has got to the point where the distance between services has gotten shorter and shorter.
