Fuel Burning Heater
Ive tried searching but the search facility doesn't work so forgive me if this has been discussed.
From what I can gather the D5 does not have Fuel Burning Heater. So how does it heat up when you use the remote?

I posted this over on Disc04
Option 043AV
Remote Park Heat with Timed Climate
This pre-heats the engine, channelling residual heat into
the cabin, so the vehicle is warm and comfortable by the
time you leave the house.
I think it probably an electrical heating system as has been on the RRS2 since it's launch
Did you order this option for you car?

Apparently my HSE will have the App where I can start the engine remotely to then either heat or cool the car

If you have iPhone you can download the app
Land Rover InControl Remote by Land Rover
https://appsto.re/gb/6UQJQ.i
And play with the demo car to see what it does

I have a feeling I have just wasted a lot of money ordering the remote when I can just start the car from my phone
When I'm not in the operating theatre, I'm mountain biking, spending time with my family, running and socialising. I have a Discovery 5 HSE Lux with pretty much every option ticked. This is my first ever Land Rover. Been a rocky road with regards to reliability but we're getting there.

Hi all
My dealer has just linked my login details for Land Rover Remote app to my car ahead of collection on Wednesday, I've just been playing with it and spotted the engine start function which looks good. According to notes it states you can start engine and set climate to any temp you want , engine will run for max 30 mins.
If you have fuel burning heater then you can also start that from the app but you can not set the temperature, therefore not sure of benefit of FBH? I'm sure there must be one.

I can't see one other than a £1035 charge. I guess if you didn't want the engine running to wake people up early in the morning that might be one advantage.
I just downloaded the remote app but the reviews are terrible.

True, FBH will be lot quieter than engine. Not seen the reviews. I will try it later in week and report back.

OK thanks Mac. Too late for me to change my mind now but I could have a grumble at the dealer.

I am sure it is not a FBH but an electric heating device as on the RRS2

Will the app version not be reliant on the Wi-Fi hotspot in the car for connectivity?

Not wifi, but suspect mobile coverage ( for the cars internal sim )
