    Side Steps from sidesteps.co.uk

Just giving a Thumbs Up for the D5 side steps (Black) from sidesteps.co.uk

Rang and ordered this morning, popped over to Wolverhampton at lunchtime and they were fitted FOC within 20 minutes. A substantial product, the steps have injection moulded thick rubber all round an internal frame, well worth the money. Can confirm they sit proud of the doors. Thumbs Up

I really must get round to this, just too much on and too much to pay for. Apparently, I have to pay for everything for everyone else’s cars in the family from tax to insurance, incl. an 18 year olds car, from tyres to repairs and servicing, plus let’s not forget I am the only mug that knows how to fill up four cars apparently.

Even had SWMBO tell me at the pumps, she was going into the kiosk to pay for her newspaper and a bar of chocolate - wasn’t for me!,but expected me to pay £60 for the fuel for her car. Unbelievable, she obviously thinks she married a cash dispenser! Then the boy left his car today so I could take it into the garage, oh and fill it up! £130 for a new sensor and another £60 for fuel and it’s only Monday! Rant over, I think.

Suppose I should be grateful the MIL doesn’t drive, although she likes her escorted shopping trips.

Oh well, I’ve ordered some of these side steps. Bunged in my order only to be met with a pleasant enough email plus extra cost invoice for £18.50 because I live in the Highlands. Confused

I suppose I should be used to it by now, but it’s a pain in the neck.

Anyone find they catch your legs when you get out without using them.?
All of out other 4x4's are a PITA, get a nice smear of dirt on the back of your leg just before you go into a meeting!!

All fitted by myself. Reasonably straightforward. I now keep forgetting they are there and end up stepping over them to put my foot on the ground. Rolling Eyes

Very keen on getting side steps for the car. Noticed on the website that they can be fitted in 15 minutes and no cutting of the sills required. Is this true?

Absolutely, no cutting of anything. The brackets bolt into the pre-existing threaded holes found under your sills.

Takes a bit longer than 15 mins that said. First side was about half an hour by the time I’d mucked about, half that time for the other side.

    2018 Discovery Sd4 (240) HSE Corris Grey

nipped over to bilston this afternoon - steps fitted whilst I was there (15mins for both sides), They look really well made and the all black ones on mine with black pack look great.

Very happy. They are quite happy to do a deal (if you know what I mean, wink, wink) if you turn up to get a set.

The one thing I have noticed is when you fit side steps (genuine and the Sidesteps UK ones) the original jacking points are covered by the steps mounting brackets, but these then have the cut out for the jack to locate so you then jack under the steps.
