    Software

Apologies if I have missed this elsewhere. Just registered with the forum, having only collected our new (to us) 2018 HSE Lux Disco 5.

Im delighted with the car but just wanted to know if I am on the old software - there doesnt seem a way to call up the number. If I am, what is the best way to get the dealer to do an update for me? Are there any issues I should check for?

I have attached a photo of the screen.

    Thanks for your help!

    Alex

Welcome Alex, you will enjoy the car a lot, but you might enjoy it even more when on the latest software Wink

You have the old version, the new one comes with 3 taps on the main screen, you still have the 4 taps!

Yes we are, still got the Disco4 on the drive about to go on ebay. Didnt realise how old she looked until the new one arrived!

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Any idea how I get the dealer to update? Are they usually pretty ok with it? Thanks

I would just ask for the latest version, there are lots of issues with the old one around cameras, radio reception etc.

Just say you know of the issues and want to start off on the right foot and not have to come back complaining in a few weeks when you discover them for yourself.

    Cheers
    Jim

Thanks Jim. Decent suggestion. Will give them a call today. I assume its not a drop and wait job?

No, it takes several hours which is why they are often reluctant to do it.

I am still on the older software. I don’t have a problem with what I do on it, so have simply kept it. Some of the people who have migrated initially reported problems?

When you do the update, make sure they add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, then you are fully inline with the new cars Wink

Apart from Apple and Android, is there anything else you get that makes it worthwhile? I don’t get glitches with the old software and I don’t use a phone with the car.

Thanks for the advice folks. All updated and so much quicker, no CarPlay update though.

Depends how generous/guilty the dealer is feeling.

Mine was feeling guilty and loaded it free with the Incontrol update.

I might try it on the back of something else,,,,, when the next time something needs fixing. If the d4 was anything to go by I should have it in by the weekend! :lo l:

Does anyone offer CarPlay as an aftermarket update? I know with my BMW I bought online, downloaded to a USB and flashed it onto the car.
