major design fault
well defo a first world problem - with the sunglasses holder.
Got my glasses out at 5:30 yesterday after the car being in the sun all day, and my specs have a part that is metal - one burnt nose later!! Friggin glasses were red hot.
We need a major redesign I think
Be carefull out there, apply suncream to roof area above sunglasses holder

Now gone - D5 HSE 2Ltr in Corris with black roof, black & dynamic packs & 22" black alloys, a bit of a change after 2 D3's and 2 D4's

OK, it might be model dependant (mines a HSE) as I know the SE doesnt (or didnt) have the second glove box or the big storage locker under the cup holders.
On mine the sunglasses compartment is up by the light fitting in th middle - you press the front and it folds/opens down (prossibly not the best description)

I have pauper spec and it has it in the overhead console.,. None of my glasses ever fit in those things anyway, as I go for the wrap around style... They don't fold flat enough
It's a good point OP... Sunny = hot car ....ooh I need my glasses .. Ouch
JLR aren't the only manufacturer that do this
Be better to stick a 12v socket/USB there to power a dashcam (with a tidy cable route)

I use the thing and my sunglasses fit fine and not too hot, but Iโve got the black interior, dunno if that makes a difference?
They do fall out most of the time that said.

HSE Lux doesn't have the sunglasses holder, that space is used for the IR transmitter for the rear seat entertainment,
My shades live behind the HVAC flap.

Was yesterday and today, although we could never match the temperatures down south nor would we want to. I like it cold tbh, canโt tolerate heat.
The eldest is driving into your Dingwall as we speak, heโs worked out Granny drops him ยฃ20 every time on a Friday, he picks her up from Tesco and runs her home and as itโs me that fills his car up, itโs win, win.

Living in the sun most of the year I use the holder daily, never really noticed my sun glasses being hotter than anywhere else but they do fall out although Iโm used to it and easily catch them.
