will after market sidesteps affect warranty ?
hi people , any ideas if fitting after market side steps will invalidate the warranty ?
i assume not as its cosmetic , i know you have to fit genuine spares to a car if under warranty but surely not these , thought id ask the question
many thanks in advance

Been looking at different ones than the LR supplied unit , on our previous D4 I fitted after market ones that were a little wider than the stock ones .
They offered more protection for the doors being damaged from other parked cars (happened twice before fitting).
When Parked up in a car park I would raise the suspension and together with the side steps I felt that this would minimise damage from other cars opening their doors .
I looked at a D5 recently with OEM side steps and couldn’t see the steps offering much if any protection as they didn’t protrude beyond the door line .
Handy for standing on when washing the roof as well .

No, it won’t effect the warranty - through personnel experience. Start playing about with cutting into the electrics would, but only for the part LR deemed effected.
