D5 Commercial or Traditional
Hi all,
I've had my Disco 3 for 16 years now and after 260k miles its starting to want more and more regular maintenance
I'm looking for a bit of advice from from any commercial owners that might be on the forum
I've maybe got the opportunity to get a new commercial D5 through my work. Is there much difference between that a traditional normal D5?
Any help, advice an pointers would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Ade

Commercial has no rear seats, it's essentially a great big van:

I think I’m right in saying they build it as a normal vehicle first then convert it once it arrives in UK?
But other than no back seats/rear conversion, they are identical. But technically they should be more reliable with fewer mechanical or electrical components in the rear to go wrong!

Not helpful for your post, but great mileage there on the D3! My wife now runs my 16 year old 275k D3. Perfect second car to the D5!

That video is great, thanks for posting
Yeah, I understand its a "van" but I tend to drive my D3 with the rear seats folded down anyway, so assuming I wouldn't notice much difference
I also see people doing rear seat conversions on the Commercial's, I assume thats not a big job?
Thanks again

haha thanks. To be honest I cannot fault my D3. Its been the best car I've owned by far. Never missed a beat and done everything I needed it to do. The last 12 months howver have been a struggle with it having to go in for various repairs.
I think a commercial option via my work would tick all the boxes!

I have a Disco 5 Commercial.
I absolutely love it.
But, let’s face it. The only real reason people buy one is for the tax benefits.
