    2022 Discovery SDV6 HSE Lux Santorini Black

    G/CO2 rating... help me understand, please?

    The printed V5 listing for my current 2018 3.0litre diesel Disco 5 HSE is 202g/km.

    The projected rating for my 2023 3.0-litre diesel Metropolitan, with mild hybrid tech, is 225g/km. I'm taking this figure from the dealer's build sheet.

    OK, so I've added roof rails, which may push things up a tiny bit (I'm sure I read on here), but genuinely how has moving from the old engine, to a cleaner, mild hybrid engine, made the g/km rating go up so much? Shocked

    Wasn't 2018 pre-WLTP?

    If so, the CO2 rating was for a base model, and calculated on a different basis.

    Ahhhhh, I had no idea that changed things, I though it just impacted on fuel economy figures OEMs could quote... so excuse my ignorance!

    Have a play with the configurator. Options which add weight or increase drag, will impact the CO2 figure. It’s one reason the tow pack is strangely expensive, as the car is pushed into the next tax banding, adding another £500 or so.
