    Wireless Phone Charger Install

    Hello, everyone. I recently ordered and received a wireless phone charging pad from ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/314145337215). Unfortunately, the promised instructions were not included. I know at least two people on this forum have installed similar wireless charging pads, and I was wondering if any of you could point me in the right direction as far as installation. This comes with a Y-harness to wire it to the socket connector.

    Any assistance would be much appreciated.

    Thanks, BBDisco5. That is helpful. I am fairly certain that I need to disassemble the console for this, but I was hoping for some confirmation before I went through the trouble to take everything apart.

    I will be interested to hear what you think of it. I have it in my D5. Already failed once. Very disappointed with it. It was not worth installing.

    I am seriously thinking of going back to the standard tray!!

    In case anyone else buys something similar, I did have to dismantle the console to install it. To do so, I followed:
    1. Pages 9964-9966 of the Italian version of the Workshop Manual that dgardel was so kind to share in OneDrive (https://disco5.co.uk/forum/thread924.html?...hop+manual) to remove the stowage compartment lid
    2. The Floor Console Upper Trim Removal and Install Guide that JonM generously shared (https://disco5.co.uk/forum/thread2278.html...ve+console)

    Once I had the console dismantled, I was able to run the cable to use the 12V socket next to the USB ports. To be transparent, I could have just used dgardel's version of the Workshop Manual for all of it, but, being a non-Italian speaker, it was a little easier to switch to English instructions as soon as I was able.

    Overall, I'm happy with it, but you do have a good point, nebc100, I don't think I've ever had a wireless charger last me more than a year or two, so it may not be worth the hassle.
