    2020 Disco 5 sometimes doesn't start

The problem started when the car was about 4 years old. The most problematic thing is that it occurs randomly.
Sometimes (mostly in the morning, when its colder, and more humid outside) when I get into the car (the car opens with the keyfob, so there shouldn't be a problem) I see the welcome screen, the land rover on the center console. The dash is black, there is no date or whatever. If this is happening, when I press the start button (whether I push the brake pedal or not).

We tried to bring it to the mechanic, it was good for half a year, but the same thing came back. They tried to change the battery, but that did not help, They changed the fuse box too, so the problem should be somewhere else. They checked the fault codes, but there were nothing, the car didn't register anything.

We also found out that if there is no milage and date on the dash, the car will not start.
Do anyone knows what can be the problem?

Sounds like a faulty dash cluster. It stores odometer mileage, VIN number and other information in there independent of the ECU. I had exactly the same intermittent fault a couple of years ago with the digital dash cluster on my wife's Mercedes SLK. I had the dash cluster repaired by a 3rd party company since Mercedes were looking for the better part of £1000 to replace it.

Found plenty of digital dashboard repair services around the UK on Google so they'll be just as common in Europe...None of the UK ones seem to cover L462 dashboards....although they cover every other model of Land Rover from Defenders, Discoverys up to the D4 as well as Range Rovers and Disco Sports, but no D5... which I find strange. Might be different in Hungary, I've no idea.

My Hungarian is non existant so it would be a near impossible search for me on the internet...even Google translate is horrible Mr. Green

It might be worth contacting some similar companies or garages in or around Budapest and asking. Most of those places offer a same day drive in dashboard test and repair service if you find one near you.
