Anyone noticed an impact from the JLR hacking/shutdown yet?
Gonna need to get a service in 4k miles , and hoping JLR's hacking woes are long resolved by then. For the sake of the company, employees, suppliers and customers.
Just wondered if anyone has seen any impact on it locally yet, with parts availability for general servicing items / repairs impacted yet?
Or has anyone with new car builds due been notified of particular delays?

My new D5 was due to arrive at the dealership on 3rd October. At the moment, I can't even get an update on when to expect it.
Has it already been built and just waiting to be shipped?
Is it half way along a production line that hasn't moved for a month?
Is it still a heap of parts waiting to be assembled?
Hopefully I'll find out soon, but in the meantime, do I renew the extended warranty and maps subscription for my current one or let them lapse? I hadn't planned on renewing them but I don't know how long I'll still have this one for.

Oh boy, you're caught right in the middle of it!
I have a feeling with the warranty at least, you can elect to pay monthly, so does that mean you could extend on a monthly payment basis, and then cancel it as soon as the new motor arrives and the swap over happens? Keep us posted!

It's not so much pay monthly for the warranty, it's a 1 year contract but if you cancel it and haven't had a claim, they'll refund (or you don't need to pay) any whole months unused.
If there's been a claim, you still need to pay for the whole year, and the LR assist part is not refundable at all unless you cancel in the first 14 days.

Wouldn’t you think that as you have a new car on the assembly line LR would offer to extend the old warranty and subscriptions, assuming there is someone there to talk to that is not running around with their hair on fire……

It would be a nice gesture wouldn't it.
But, in fairness, if the predicted delivery date had been a little bit later anyway, I'd still have had the same dilemma to renew or not and that wouldn't have been anyone's responsibility except mine. However, at least I'd have known how long the gap between renewing and the new car's arrival was going to be and could make a decision based on that.
At the moment, all I know is the date the warranty and subscription expire. I can leave renewal until the last minute to see if more information becomes available but if I don't renew, I don't currently know if I'd be without cover for a couple of days, a few weeks or months.
Maybe I'll find out next week if they start manufacturing again, maybe they'll delay it all again. Who knows
