    Timed climate pure and simple

    Ok so , I’ve got no subscription to Landrover app, no SIM card in the car, no Fbh remote and want to know if I program the car via the touch screen on the timed climate will it work or not

    The quick answer is yes...if the Timed Climate option is there on the centre screen. It needs neither the Remote app nor a sim card. Just set the on/off timer on the centre screen and it'll work Thumbs Up

    I've never used it since I have both a FBH and the Remote app...but I'd assume it'll just use the temp settings from where the knobs are set...it would make sense anyway.

    I’ve ordered remote , does it just work the engine and coolant or do the cabin fans circulate the warm air ?

    I love the LR Remote app...you can set the climate from the app independent of where the knobs in the car are set. It'll automatically set the fans and AC if needed... It starts the engine but leaves the car alarmed and locked. When you get into the car, you just press the brake pedal to stop the climate control and drive away as normal.

    Besides all the other functions it does...£40 a year or £60 for 2 years subscription makes it a worthwhile bit of kit to be fair.

    I wasn't sure about the Remote app at first due to the palaver I had getting the previous owner's details wiped off and my own put on...but the InControl customer services folk are really good. They erased all the previous dudes info, put mine on and gave me a month free of charge to boot, all done over the phone in about 10 minutes or so Thumbs Up

    0370 500 0500 then option 3 for IC customer support. They'll sort you out.

    So car doesn’t need a sim to connect and will I get charged for removing the previous owners details to log me as owner

    Nope, removing previous owners and registration is free...for the remote services, a sub is required but you'll get an email after any free trial period they give you so you can subscribe via the website...or you can just sign up over the phone. No sim card needed, all it needs is a mobile phone signal via your phone.

    You can connect to the car from absolutely anywhere and lock it, set the climate start, etc, etc...as long as your phone has a signal, it'll work, no matter the distance.

    There's a bit of setting up in the car...which is shown via a short vid on the app when you enter the setup mode...or InControl support will talk you through it on the phone. It's just linking the car to your app is all, all done with pressing the button on the roof console for 5 or 10 secs (NOT the SOS button...t'other one), nothing complicated.

    The latest update to the remote app adds the option of heating the car with either the FBH or starting the engine remotely. The FBH is no longer limited to the range of the remote fob. Thumbs Up

    Aye, I can chuck my FBH remote in a drawer now at last Laughing

    I did notice the app had been updated to version 3.0.0 this morning. I still haven't worked out how to set the display on the app to 'Dark mode' instead of the depressing grey/white it sets as default...seemingly, it was part of the update...but I haven't found it yet. At least they've changed it from the bum coloured beige it used to be... Rolling Eyes

    The remote climate start is worth the £40 subscription alone...it'll run the engine and climate control for 30 minutes then automatically shuts off. Great in the winter as it'll defrost your windows and warm the car up inside...unlike the FBH which just heats up the coolant in the engine.

    I just start the Bling Barge up from my phone as I'm sat at the kitchen table having my toast and coffee in the morning Cool

    I did the £60 2 year sub...saves £20 at the end of the day. All it takes is emailing them images of the first 3 pages of the V5 as proof of ownership for InControl customer services to set you up Wink
