    I see merits for the Lane Departure Warning on Dual Carriageways and Motorways but not on A Roads.

    Were I live, you are constantly crossed the white central line without indicating to smooth out shallow bends in the road etc etc (Obviously only when the road is clear) and the Lane Departure (Steering Wheel Vibration) is a pain.

    Also, if you have the "Lane Keep Assist" (rotational force applied to the steering wheel) could that unsettle the vehicle or even turn you back into the path of a cyclist that you may be passing...???

    Just in case I've turned mine off and will give it a shot next time I'm on a Motorway Very Happy

    Lane departure warning was switched off the minute I took delivery, the same when I had the DS. I'm not a fan of it.

    The rest I don't have so can't comment too much but IMO there is too much reliance on gadgets and gizmos to do what a driver should be doing.

    I couldn't agree more. Reading about problems people are having with the technology makes me think we put too much reliance on it. I don't use cruise control. Concentrating on driving keeps you alert.

    Adaptive cruise is amazing but I wish it linked in with the speed limit detection camera. I set adaptive cruise to not go above 70 on a motorway then followed a car off at an exit where the system slowed me down and followed the car in front through a series of 30 mph zones.

    All was fine until the car in front turned right leaving the road completely clear. The system then rocketed me back up to 70 taking me by surprise as I was so used to it just driving at the "right" speed. All of this despite it showing a 30 limit on the dash and pinging away to say there's a speed camera ahead. Mrs _f not impressed at my "boy racer" antics as I stamped on the brakes right before the camera to disengage the system. Embarassed

    I don't think you set adaptive cruise, you can turn it on or off, the point of it is it knows the speed limit.

    On mine you set a maximum speed. It ignores speed limits.

    Is mine broken?

    I was referring to "intelligent speed limiter".

    On mine is excellent combined with the adaptive CC It knows the speed limit & adjusts accordingly & will also stop/ keep car at correct distance in a queue.

    However as mentioned elsewhere to switch it on you have to hold the button for three seconds to switch from ordinary speed limiter which indeed need to be told a speed.

    oooh, you can put BOTH the ACC and Intelligent limiter on together? How did I miss that.
