Has anybody used Ali Express for parts? I’m not sure what the actual name of these parts are, but I was going to get mine painted as they are silver. Looks like Ali Express has them in for £100 which will be far cheaper than painting the originals.
Ali Express can be OK, sometimes with expensive delivery charges or longer UK delivery times than some other traditional online shopping outlets. It's just Chinese eBay basically. The parts you listed will be local manufacture, not genuine...although I've never had any personal issues with buying or fitting 3rd party plastic cosmetic bits on anything...Chinese or not, practically everything (including OE parts for Land Rovers) is made in China these days.
I've used Ali Express once for something non car part related which I could find nowhere else at a decent price (a 3D printer part), long delivery times like I mentioned, apart from that...no hassles.
Usual online shopping warnings for car parts apply obviously, but not generally any less reliable than eBay for peer to peer and small business sales.

Damn, Darras...you edited your post. I was eagerly awaiting the next episode in the robo-mower story. I still have a picture in my head of your son and daughter in law hauling a lawnmower through customs.
Most of mine are bordering on the irrelevant or totally off topic.
A bit of off topic and purely human banter between denizens of this forum just helps keep the place a bit lighter than reading through subjects on Topix.
I'd already have been lacing up my old hill boots...
Besides a holiday type trip to the Gorkha district of Nepal at the invite of the Gurkhas, the closest I got to visiting mainland China was a brief few weeks posting to Hong Kong many years ago. I practically lived down at Kowloon City Market when I was off duty, the sights, smells and sounds were intoxicating.
Rural mainland China is at the very top of my bucket list...especially hill provinces like Qinghai or Sichuan...or going to see the 3 gorges dam...amongst the myriad of other things I've only read about or seen in pictures.
As for the altitude sickness...just don't go jogging first thing in the morning and drink lots of green chá...
