    Annoying locking behaviour

Sometimes I find if I open the tailgate whilst the car is locked, it won't then let me close it again - it just beeps. I then have to unlock the car before I can close the tailgate.

Also you can't lock the car whilst the tailgate is closing - you have to wait until it has stopped moving.

Hi there I have the same problem. My car is currently in garage having numerous electrical faults fixed, including boot not closing using boot button (on occasion the key is the only way to close it). I'm told there is a software fix for this.

    Maybe

It's to protect you from you putting your keys in & locking you out ?
Lots of combinations as to how you can but anything that prevents a lock out has to be a benefit not an inconvenience.
I've been locked out of my D3 once. My stupid mistake not to be repeated by me.
Are all D5's keyless locking ?
Can you opt for simple - basic ?

There should be sensors inside the car to make sure the key isn't inside

No problems with mine. I can certainly open and close boot whilst rest of car locked.
