Has any one got a Petrol?

Im getting really frustrated with dealers being very vague with delivery timescales for a Petrol D5. Has anyone in the UK either got one or has a confirmed delivery date? Its like pulling teeth wth various dealers and starting to really pee me off.

    Hi

I have a petrol on order having put a deposit down aeons ago. The original order form (put through in early Jan) had a delivery date of July and alledgedly it had been brought forward. I am going into the dealership next week so will get an update then.

Just to come back on this as went in to the dealership today. Had a diesel demonstrator which was really great although quite different to the D4. You can actually steer it round corners rather than pilot it!

My order for the supercharged petrol is due to go into build next week so I should receive it towards the end of the month or early May. This will be the first petrol discovery that they have received and he acknowledged that the petrol model had been delayed and he thought it was only just starting in production.

Thanks and will be very interested to see what you think of it when you get it Thumbs Up

Im currently speaking to two dealers about a Petrol order and both are being very evasive about dates. Maybe they have had their hands burnt with the delays so far, one has said september and next MY year if i order by end of April. Another dealer seemed to think as I'm looking at a HSE Lux it would be sooner but i wouldn't have thought they are still prioritising builds of higher spec cars now so i'm taking that with a pinch of salt.

I finally picked up the car from the dealer yesterday. Haven't driven it that much yet but it is very smoooooth. It has a start up sequence which revs the engine which is quite fun and sounds great. Once it is on tickover you can hardly hear it is running it is really quiet. It revs very freely and I find myself driving it much harder than the D4 as it is begging for liberal use of the right foot and it makes a rather nice sound!

Fuel economy - well it wasn't bought for that but hopefully I will get something close to the D4 which over several thousand miles of town and motorway driving settled on 26mpg per the car so maybe 23ish in real life.

Presume these are 3.0 Petrol, not 2.0?

The start-up for both 3.0 & 5.0 petrols is very Cool Thumbs Up

Despite being on offer for nearly a year the 3.0S/C version of the RRS seems to be almost a s rare as hen's teeth, but one member of RRSport took delivery of his last week and what is said above he backs up in his post on the forum, very smooth and quiet - no comments on fuel economy but if a friends 3.0 S/C F Pace is anything to go by, don't get your hopes up, it isn't great............... especially if you start to drive it like the engine wants you to!

The petrol sounds fun, perhaps I should've opted for that instead.

Having had D3/4s for the last 12 years I'm quiet looking forward to a Petrol Very Happy

Off Topic but petrol model related. Talking to dealer about options I've got a Luxury with 22" Dynamic pack lined up, I've ticked quite a few boxes one of which is the Timed Climate which I'm assuming is an equivalent of the FBH for the petrol but I'm struggling on what it gives over and above the IN CONTROL function which can pre heat even on a petrol?

I shelled out for remote park heating but with the app I can't see me ever using it.

When I'm not in the operating theatre, I'm mountain biking, spending time with my family, running and socialising. I have a Discovery 5 HSE Lux with pretty much every option ticked. This is my first ever Land Rover. Been a rocky road with regards to reliability but we're getting there.
