Don't know about wheels, can give comparison with LR3 regarding engine. First off, the computer compensates automatically for elevation in both the D5 and LR3. I have a 2005 LR3 with the V8, that lives at high altitude in Colorado. The LR3 is a dog engine wise, I have abused this truck over time and love it, but at the end of the day it's a dog engine wise. My new D5 is the Td6, love the mileage, love the torque, but it's a dog when you need to pass in a hurry, you Absolutely have to plan passes to be safe. See my avatar pic, that's my D5 at 11,250 ft. The supercharged V6 is the same engine my 2014 RR had, OK mileage, and No problems passing. So it boils down to what is most important to you, mileage, torque, ability to pass, etc.....no regrets on the Td6, you just have to factor in its a turbocharged diesel vs a supercharged v6, different power delivery. But in any case, other than the natural effect altitude plays no compensation required on your behalf. Hope this helps.
