service manual/front prop shaft removal
anybody have a recommendation for a shop manual for the disco 5?
has anyone removed the front prop shaft? appears you need a special tool to remove the prop shaft from the front differential. reason for doing this is to replace the leaking exhaust crossover pipe.
any help appreciated.

that link did not work for me but thank you for the page number reference.
i bought an excellent manual off eBay from “tech-manuals” for 23 GBP. it is 15,860 pages !
unfortunately i ran out of time to pursue doing this job. i have taken the Discovery to a dealer who had all parts in stock but insisted it is an engine out 25 hour job despite the fact the service manual says it can be done by removing front and rear drive shafts and tilting the engine/transmission down to access the crossover pipe. the dealer claims to have done this job several times as an engine out repair.
Beware any TD6 thats smells like diesel exhaust in the cabin as you will be in a world of financial pain to have the problem corrected.
