D5 engine
Well unfortunately as I ordered the First Edition it does not come with the petrol variant as an option. Hence opted for the 3 litre diesel engine. Plus I need it to tow my car which I use on track days, so I felt the 2 litre will be huffing and puffing towing 2 tons plus going uphill especially. It should be a breeze with the 3 litre engine. As the car is massive in the first place I would rather have a bigger engine than an underpowered one even though the cars lost nearly 1/2 a ton (480 kg) in weight. In the UAE and the USA the First Edition does come with the 3 litre petrol engine, as surprisingly bottled water is far more expensive than petrol, so it makes sense having a petrol option. I am a bit puzzled as the RR Sport Svr comes with a 5 litre petrol engine as does the full size RR. In Dubai you can also get the D4 with a 5 litre petrol engine. It's a mystery as why the First Edition does not get a petrol engine but the lower specs do get a petrol engine. Also the low mpg with petrol made me go for the diesel option which will pay for itself when filling up at the station. Oh yes I forgot too mention I will also be using it to tow my brothers Vauxhall Failtera mickey mouse 4x2 which is always breaking down. (Oops meant frontera)
