I've had an Uncle Ray protector ever since I lost my second spare wheel on my D3. Once I realised that it was available I bought one and I haven't lost one since. I have it on my D4 for the last 4 years and 7 years on my D3, never had a moments trouble with it. Simple solution but clever too.
Cancelled my order for 18MY HSE Luxury TD6 in Byron Blue with Oyster/Riems blue. Full Dynamic pack with deployable tow bar, Drive Pro pack, cubby fridge, 22" 5011's, ugly kid glass, mudflaps, passenger footwell net and adaptive headlights. -

Security enhancement
Whilst my vehicle was in for some updates, (service warning, door handle covers, infotainment-still waiting!) The spare wheel mods were carried out. The general opinion in the workshop, was that Ray's plate was a far better device than the item supplied by JLR.
The additional winch cable protection was fitted, but my original plate was refitted, as it offered a closer fit in the wheel and did not leave the tube at the end of the winch cable exposed.
The tube, if some thieving
had the time and inclination, could be cut and the cable then compromised.
At least JLR customer service are listening to us! -

Here is a photo of the anti theft kit 2 which the dealer recently installed. (Still a bit of space around the edges compared too Ray's one).
Am looking too buy either a space saver or a full sized spare as I dont want the new one getting damaged/corroded, with all the salt, etc.
Will a RRS full size fit?? (PCD). I need a 22 inch wheel

I was thinking the same DG and doubling it up, but if going for a space saver there is no point I thought, plus the factory one may not fit let alone Ray's one

Lol that's another reason why i rather get a space saver than loose the original alloy. Contemplating buying a used wheel. Don't care if it's got a bit of kerb rash, as long as it doesn't leak air am happy.
