    Gap Insurance

    Anyone taken the Gap insurance out on their car.

    Any thoughts ?? Thumbs Up

    I’ve just had a Touareg written off. If I hadn’t had GAP I’d be looking at about £27 K which would fall some way short of the initial purchase price.

    As I had it I was awarded purchase price of the vehicle, I was very tempted to buy another as the prices have dropped thro the floor in anticipation of the new one, it’s a boring grandad car as my Son informed me so I hopped back into a Disco, had I not had the GAP tho I would have struggled, It’s just like insurance, it’s a waste of money if you don’t need to use it, but a god send it and when things go wrong.

    I always GAP a car especially in this price range. Hopefully you will never need it but better safe than sorry.

    Also if you sell the car early you are entitled to a refund on the GAP. I got the dealer to do it as you don't pay admin fees if they do it.

    Its a gamble so too speak, but at these prices maybe a good gamble too take, especially with the amount of uninsured idiots on the road.

    I have never taken GAP before, but this is the most expensive Disco we have purchased till date.

    LR were charging silly money for the GAP insurance, and local dealer told me far cheaper going through my own insurance company.
