Back of Seat Flaps instead of pockets
Has anybody noticed the lack of pockets on the back of the front seats on the new D5 ?
I have a new D5 SE and where pockets used to be are now just a hard flat slab held in place with elastic. The only use that this can be used for is to put a flat map, flat tissue or a very thin Newspaper.
On my D4 I used to keep my spare gloves, dog lead and a duster and being a pocket nobody could see what was in there.
The flaps on the back of the seats now are useless.

Mine are decent enough for all sorts of stuff including holding a loose bottle of wine on the way home from the shop; it wont fit in the door pocket like it used to in my D3.
They aren't ideal but I still find them useful. Mine have elasticated sides.

Agree with Chris, they are flaps but big enough for all sorts of things, I have high viz jackets and RSE headphones in there with no issues.

Yes I agree the Nicker elastic is strong enough to hold most things but it it is still a rigid flap and when anything is between it and the back of the seat can be seen and stands out into the space of the person sat in the back seat.
I would have preferred a soft material that 'moulded' around what ever was in it and closed at the sides.

Clearly not thinking out of the box. They make a perfect trouser press. However be careful when using it. May be difficult to explain.

Do you know what Craig - that is the best description I can think of
Pressing swimming trunks or shreddies perhaps
At the moment I have a couple of Tesco carrier bags hanging on the back of the seats, they hold my dog treats, poo bags and a bundle of string.

In the boot of the vehicle are several plastic fertiliser sacks and quite often I fill these with things I find across the fields or maybe even generate from some of my Sporting activities so the string ties the bag tight to stop leakage
I forgot to mention there is also a very cheap 'Leatherman' and a small folding hand saw.

Now that would be a good idea Road runner.
This site is brilliant isn't it.
It just goes to show that there are special types of people that own D5's

Never used the pockets on any LR I’ve owned. Always used the other storage within the car.
On the Discos dog leads, poo bags etc were all stored in the 3rd row but granted the storage bins on the 5 are poor compared to the 4. My D5 was an SE so didn’t benefit from the fascia storage or the large storage under the cup holders but overall storage was good enough without having to use the pockets which were only ever intended as map pockets.

4 months in and I’ve only just discovered that there are 2 pockets on each seat, one top, one bottom
