    Trailer electrical connection

First time hitching up the trailer I struggled to fit the connector to the car's socket due to the proximity of the bumper lower edge preventing the locking ring on the connector from engaging fully. After a bit of head scratching I saw that the socket on the car is held by three screws, symmetrically spaced, so I removed the screws, rotated the socket through 120 degrees clockwise and refixed.
The connector now mates up without a problem.
Anyone else had a problem?...or was that a mountainous molehill??

    Hi Ray
Not had a problem myself. I have the deployable tow bar. It was a bit of a faff at first but not a problem now no more marks on my knees. Surprised

Ray, I think I have read somewhere else on here that others have had to do what you have done.

As for my connection, just like Craig I have the electrically depoloyable one and my electrics are just fine.

I assume those that have needed to do it are detachable not electrically deployable? Electrically deployable are intentionally designed to open downward as per the following photo as it pushes a leaver behind the socket and locks it into place so it cannot fold back up whilst something is plugged in.

Picked up my new D5 last Thursday and the switch round was already done on my socket so somebody at Land Rover must be listening to it's customers.

Can anyone confirm if all 13 pins are wired as a lot of the German cars are now only wiring 11 of the 13!so no fridge connection for caravan if?
