First time hitching up the trailer I struggled to fit the connector to the car's socket due to the proximity of the bumper lower edge preventing the locking ring on the connector from engaging fully. After a bit of head scratching I saw that the socket on the car is held by three screws, symmetrically spaced, so I removed the screws, rotated the socket through 120 degrees clockwise and refixed.
The connector now mates up without a problem.
Anyone else had a problem?...or was that a mountainous molehill??
I assume those that have needed to do it are detachable not electrically deployable? Electrically deployable are intentionally designed to open downward as per the following photo as it pushes a leaver behind the socket and locks it into place so it cannot fold back up whilst something is plugged in.
