I have an HSE with dynamic pack which, amongst other things includes a gloss black rear bumper. However, the lower panel (tow bar cover?) is bright silver, and stands out like a sore thumb in my opinion. Just wondering if anyone has painted or wrapped theirs in gloss black, which I think may 'hide it' to some extent and generally improve the clumsy rear appearance. Perhaps leave the dummy exhaust surrounds in silver?
AndrewS: Many thanks for the link as it addresses both the lower panel question and the rear number plate size & shape, both of which I am trying to decide upon. Great help.
My registration is a short one (the one in the picture above has now gone) so I think a custom size shorter than standard, but deeper number plate is the way to go.
The dealer painted my silver inserts black before I bought it, thought it looked good, Now 3.5 months later the paint is falling off both front and back silver parts and car is back with them for rectification of that, the 8 recall items they didn't do before collection and oil dilution issue.
All black makes the rear look to tall. The grey is a really nice separation. Unfortunately, SWMBO reversed into a yard wall (the delay in the rear PS is a tad annoying sometimes) and marked both the black bumper insert and the grey trim. JLR dealer said it was a bodyshop job, but I suspect the trim pieces are easy enough to come by.
We have the electrically deployable tow bar though so I don't know if the parts are different.
Bumper itself is common towbar or non towbar, the lower grey panel is different, tow bar equipped cars bow out slightly to clear the towbar mechanism, non towbar are effectively straight across with scallops out to imply some sort of aerodynamic benefit.

I agree, I am usually quicker than the parking sensors!
Mine has the black panel covering the towbar (when it was black packed they got rid of the silver in both bumpers)
I painted mine only last week. Light rubdown, heavy primer coat, rub smooth then 2 top coats.
I also did a pair of dummy pipe tips while at it. Really cheap off eBay...
