    Letter from Landrover?

    Hi guys,

Two weeks ago I ordered a new discovery.
Since then nothing from the dealer and nothing from Landrover.

I'm probably being a bit naive here but I was kinda expecting something through the post or maybe an email.
Like, "Thanks for your order which is now being processed.

The expected build date is estimated at ###
Your estimated delivery date is ###
Your options as selected are . . .

Am I to expect direct comms from Landrover or is it all through my dealer? Sad

Mine was all through the dealer and even then I had to extract info all the time instead of them keeping me posted.

Except after you have taken delivery, I've had multiple surveys since.

You are buying the vehicle from your dealer so initial paperwork will be from them at the time of order .....you should have walked out of the showroom with it tbh ...you will also get a welcome letter from LR but it won't contain the level of detail you have expressed here.

Never got a welcome letter from LR, not with this one, not with the D4, but my dealers always kept me posted

Hi All, wasn't sure if there's an intro thread?

My first post on here after skulking around for a while.. Smile

I ordered a D5 TDV6 HSE stock vehicle 2 weeks ago, waiting for it to go on a 68 plate so delivery 3rd Sept.

Interesting thing is I got a very nice welcome pack in the post.
Contained a "welcome to the Landrover Family" letter plus nice little framed print and a very nice leather bound book about History of Landrover.

certainly wasn't expecting it! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Thanks for your replies, much appreciated.
I guess I'll give it another six weeks and then call the dealer.
    Cheers

Don't blame you for expecting more - yes, you should have walked out of the showroom with most of this stuff (or had it emailed to you if you'd ordered via phone from a faraway dealer).

My comparable experience was buying a Tiguan (great car) for my wife last November. Did it via a 'remote' dealer as they were the only ones with the car I wanted in the whole of the UK (the last remaining petrol 1.4 model before they stopped taking new petrol orders for a while due to backlog), and the info they provided was first class. It included a login for a website which allowed me to track the car coming from Germany, so I knew when it had left production, when it had been gate released, was in transit, had arrived in the UK, had arrived at my dealer for PDI etc.

Hadn't expected it, but was really quite neat.

Currently awaiting my MY2019 from Harwoods Croydon, and to be fair, my salesman is really good. He contacted me proactively a couple of weeks ago, as he promised to, to confirm dates were still on track and to check in with me. I do find they give a very good service.

The voucher you can only get in countries where they organize the experience days, which are very limited, but if you have the chance to go, do it, I have done multiple in South Africa and it really saved me once from a very nasty crash with a kid suddenly crossing the street behind a truck. It’s amazing what you can do with these cars without flipping them. But if you don’t know/have never done these emergency (and aqua planning) things before yourself, you will simply not dare to go to its limits and with it maybe save someone’s live. The (advanced) off road courses are worth it as well, and might even save you some money on your insurance.

Clearly you've got the wrong end of the stick. The LR model is it's them who have done you a favour buy selling you a car. There's someone at LR rather Censored off that they haven't received a thankyou note from you. Laughing
