D5 interior quickly heats up and becomes stuffy
Has anyone else noticed that LR hasn’t deployed the same style glass throughout the D5 as was standard upon previous D3s and D4s, being Opticool glass.
Obviously someone in LR thought they could save some money and not use the previous glass but the downside is the cabin heats up, on a warm/sunny day, pretty quickly and gets pretty stuffy too.
Whilst the aircon on max for the first couple of minutes, which I believe should be the default, quickly resolved the cabin temperature and stuffiness it does little for anyone/anything left even for a short while inside the car.
I have two big fluffy dogs, not the small/medium sized doggies as recently shown in the LR commercials, bluntly advertising their paw by paw pet friendliness through expensive and unnecessary addons, which wouldn’t cope being left even on a normal day.
I believe LT has made an ill decision, and perhaps instead of knee jerk advertising they could have better thought about who’s inside and using their products.
Whoever’s attending their car clinics obviously have no idea behind how most wish to use a discovery, pre-“misguided” advertising!

Or, due to emissions regs they drastically need to reduce weight, and glass thickness plays its part.

I think that I’d prefer a cool cabin.
Alas the vehicle isn’t pet friendly, no matter has much marketing they may produce, as the interior is too warm unless the vehicle is running and the aircon on.
The boot space is physically a lot smaller than the D4 and if you move the reat seating forward it leaves a gap that the pooches could fall into or get their legs stuck.
Believe me I do like LR the D5 from the front seats forward, but it’ll be great when they finish the rest of the vehicle off.
And enough of the designed listening to drivel because whoever they listened to wasn’t a prospective discovery owner.
If you want lesson in “non-ergonomics” you only need see the location of the switches in the boot to control the electro plank et al. If there’s a load in the boot just how are you supposed to get to them.
Similarly if you’ve two huge doggies straining to jump out and you’re trying to get the the electro plank button, let’s just say good luck!
