Roof bars
I've ordered roof rails, but not the bars as I want to fit a foxwing and therefore need roof bars with a bit that sticks out over the foot of the mounting bracket.
Was pinning my hopes in Thule........
https://www.thule.com/en-gb/gb/roof-rack/roof-bars?q=rBo4ECutv
Anyone who's got one in the flesh looked at this option? I'm assuming that Thule do a standard foot mounting kit?
Would normally wait, but the car is ready sooner than I planned so may as well do the NC500 at Easter in the D5 rather than the Defender!
Thanks
Ian

I don't get my D5 for a couple of weeks but have bought the LR roof bars from Duckworth saving approx £60 and a Thule Motion XL 800 Deep Gloss Black 6208B box from Snowchains Europroducts. Did loads of research but looks as though Halfords may be even cheaper now.

Can anyone clarify what the position is with the factory fitted roof rails please ? I see from the accessory brochure, that an Alpine Light kit VPLRR0158 and a Roof Rail Ditch Finisher VPLRR0157 can be ordered, does anyone know if these parts are included with the factory fit rails ?

Yes they are, as I quieried the exact same questions. Duckworths told me this a few weeks ago, comes as a kit apparently. Am in same position, just need the rails not crossbars. Duckworths recommended garage fit them incase you damage the roofs paint with a screwdriver or break the glass. If in doubt ring Duckworths who will keep you right

Thats great thanks, I would be getting them factory fitted, rather than mess around with accessory fit, just wanted to know if those parts were included in the factory fit price

I'm having them fitted to mine as forgot on the factory order. But my dealer says that even if you factory order, they're still a dealer fit??

According to my dealer, anything under 'options' on the configurator is factory fit, anything under 'accessories' is Dealer fit ?

In fact I saw an HSE yesterday which had just been delivered to the Dealeship and it still had all the protective plastic film over everything, including the roof rails, so they must have been fitted down at the factory ?
