Only had 2 in 27k on my last one, and that’s when it ‘wasn’t working ‘.
My MY19 is dead on track to the mileage though 👍

I don’t think it affected MY17/18 models either, they just reported it incorrectly

Maybe you guys have worked out the specific "Land Rover driving style" required?

So it’s not diluting then ? On the MY 17 / 18 ?
And it is an anomaly in the vehicles engine management ?

If I understood well, it is diluting, like all other ‘modern’ diesel vehicles, but not at the rate the cars estimate(d), and that’s why it wouldn’t be a problem.

So I’m sure the MY19 has dilution as well, maybe less than the MY17-18, but it doesn’t show in the ‘service interval’ as software was adjusted, like the N222v2.

I'm getting mixed messages from various sources, I was told last week that the dilution issue in the MY 17 / 18 could not be resoved due to the fact that it had the D4 3.0 Litre unit BUT with a turbo missing, a re jigged exhaust manifold to house the single but larger turbo and the AdBlu nozzle located in the wrong place.
After some slopey shoulder action by JLR they decided on the RRS tuned lump with 2 turbo's to quickly repalce the bodged single turbo unit quickly, the newer unit maintains a cleaner burn at the DPF due to manifold exhaust temps ?
Is this incorrect ?

Having crunched a lot of numbers I'm pretty much convinced that the software in the Sd3.0 doesn't look at oil dilution at all. It just counts down days or miles, whichever is greater. If I don't drive mine for a week the service interval counts down at 16000 divided by 365 for every day. If I do 307 miles in a week it stays on track and if I do 600 miles in a day it will drop by 600.

I too believe that the countdown is calendar based, Miles based and I’m reliably told that the sequence of AdBlu injections are counted.
The way I’m told is that IF a regen is activated it squirts in the fluid and then increases fueling, IF the regen is interrupted by switching off and going shopping etc, when you get in it forces a re gen and squirts in more adblu and increases fueling, I’ve been told that every squirt decreases the service schedule by X, the calendar decreases it by Y and the fueling by Z and it’s the 3 that are at odds with each other and always two out of the 3 that are countering each other. It requires the fuel to increase engine exhaust temp to activate a re gen but then requires another factor to help measure a countdown.
The biturbo 2019 MY can trigger an activation based on temp alone without adding increased fueling so a factor is then removed from the algorithm.
When mines been in I was told that dilution has been at 7% and 9%, but not due to their anomaly it is down to my current driving style.

Sounds pretty plausible. I do a mix of very short and medium journeys and haven't noticed any issues yet on my MY19
