Can we have a fault section please?

    Hi,

Would it be possible to add a fault section please, that way we can check our new Discos before driving them home if is software needing update etc as seems to me dealers are just throwing them out showroom with known faults.

    Thanks

I was just wondering the same thing. Some owners already have 1000 miles (1600km) on their D5. I am wondering what needed sorted after delivery.

No one has reported any faults yet. So what are we to look out for? As I've yet to collect mine.

From few friends that have picked up there new Discos are experiencing, Nav screen issues freezing no touch functionality working until car switched off locked and then started again. Bluetooth hands free dropping out and not connecting to vehicle, radar speed detection failing, dealers have informed them of software updates to rectify issues.

Probably more to arise so thought best having a section in place.

If thats Incontrol touch pro then these faults have been causing issues for F-pace owners for a while, nice to see JLR are getting on top of it Rolling Eyes, thankfully my wallet couldn't stretch to anything other than SE so has the standard system.

    8 Track Player - Infotainment.

    Hi Kauff,
i picked up my courtesy car on Thursday, as my wifes First Edition has still not transpired - Hse Disco Sport 66 plate, with 6 K on the clock. Anyway the infotainment is problematic to say the least. It would not function for neither love or money.

Stuck in a cd and it played for all of 30 secs and the unit froze/locked out, and the disc stopped playing. The disc would not eject, nor would the unit turn off. Even after stopping for diesel it would not eject, finally ejecting off its own accord. Another 2 discs later and still same problem. All the discs were original with no fingermarks on them, but the message on the infotainment system was "please insert a clean disc".

If i tried too skip the tracks, the unit just skipped through all the track numbers in a continous loop, albeit with no sound. (My dads original Range Rover 8 track player in my shed is 45 years old and still works a treat- yes dont laugh !!! ) I came to the conclusion that either the laser is faulty/dirty or a software upgrade is required.

The sat nav also could not be accessed, and neither could the mobile be paired too the unit - i made sure that the phone was not "hidden". None of the buttons on the screen could be accessed. Its a real shame as when it does work it does so flawlessly. Seems too me that the old school technology was far more basic, but had far less too go wrong. Also once it was working the speed camera alerts would start just after i passed the camera, not before, like my Road Angel Gem always does - cracking piece of kit may i add Thumbs Up

Anyway, i do know of other D5 users having issues with bluetooth connectivity, rejecting dvds /cds, problems with the rear tailgate button not working properly, and the car saying its not in Park when it is.

Come on Landrover, what in my opinion is the best Discovery ever is being let down with these niggles- hopefully a software update will fix them .

Maybe thats why my cars on hold as, they are trying too sort out the above issues and other issues. I was suppossed too get in on March 1st, but looks like April now so i have been told - Not happy but i would rather a fully working car than one constantly visiting the garage. Mind you at the cost of the increased tax band, so am not a happy bunny Censored

Hmmmmm ok I will keep those issues in mind, whenever my one turns up.
Well that sounds scary with the cruise control.
Maybe worth the garage having a look at it though. Mind you with so much technology stuffed into the vehicle, am not surprised that a few minor issues have crept up. Hopefully just a 2 min fix with a software upgrade Thumbs Up
