New commercial
Just pressed the go button on my replacement car.
Only difference between my original HSE spec and the MY 19 is that you can’t have the piano black gloss trim inserts- so gone for the smokey blue/charcoal wood effect.
I’ve got my fingers crossed that this one will be luckier than MY18.

Received my Commercial D5 couple of weeks ago, it was two weeks late, dealer says they are having delivery issues with the Slovakia made D5s, their system doesn't update until the vehicle lands in the uk.

Whats the verdict on these D5 Commercials? Lovely place to be, plenty of power and all that.
However, I'm 1500 miles into mine and a bit disappointed with the ride quality. Seems hard compared to the D4. Towing the same trailer with exactly the same load on, I have to say, the D5 doesn't feel as planted and feels like its on tip toes to me. Just not the confidence with this that I had with the D4.

Did you opt for adaptive dynamics or not?

I know what you say about the confidence when driving the d5.
Mine skips about on the white lines (I’ve had three D5s in a year and they are all twitchy over white lines).
I’m not a massive fan of how they tow. I’ve never had a snaking problem but have had two incidents now.
However, I’ve got used to mine and find I’ve adapted to the car and enjoy it (still don’t really enjoy towing with the D5).
I’m just hoping my new one is problem free.

New car is on a transporter on its way from Slovakia.
Should be here next week.
Fingers crossed it’s as good as the two D5 courtesy cars I’ve had since mine went bang.

driven a D5 with a twin axle Ifor flatbed a few times it does not feel as planted as the D4 and I have less confidence in it. I would say though when I have 10 bags of postcrete in the boot it felt better. Whats that about 200kg? wonder if its related to the car just being lighter on the backend or something?

I am still surprised at how much the car gets blown about on the motorway in windy weather, I am guessing it is just a case of large side area and soft suspension (comparing to my previous absolutely rock steady XC60 with Rdesign sport suspension and 40 profile tyres). Very much the same with 1800kg caravan on the back, it was less affected by side winds behind the 500kg lighter Volvo than it is behind the D5.
