To be honest my previous caravan a swift conqueror 630 had a switch so you could select where the caravan was powered from either internal battery or car. My new caravan (Buccaneer) doesn't seem to have this feature and to be honest ive not looked at the circuit diagram to see if the 12v from the car is used. So my previous statement was from library thoughts

in 2010, Bailey could have done anything
but from what I understand it has a relay in the caravan that switches internal power (leisure battery) off once connected to the car regardless of whether the engine is running. On that basis I guess that particular relay is connected to the permanent live I guess.
