Broken plastic locking pin on fuel filling flap
Hi
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice ? I have a 2018 discovery hse and while I was waxing it the other day the fuel flap came open and I some how managed to snap the plastic pin that keeps the flap shut 🙄. I was wondering if this is an easy thing to replace ? I have tried to glue it back on but it’s not holding that well. I have searched the net but can’t find any information. Any help would be gratefully received.
Many thanks Neil Riley

If its the same mechanism thats on the D4 and other LRs (and im understanding which bit your talking about), Mrs RDR did similar on our first D4, she took it into dealers and they swapped it in seconds there and then. Not sure what the process was but sounded like a simple job.

From memory on a D4, which is similar if not identical, I had to pull back the plastics in the corresponding wheel arch and fiddle about a bit until the bit released. I think I also ended up cutting the rubber round the fuel filler to help.
Replacing was a breeze, done in seconds and the part wasn’t more than about £20 odd.
Get the part first and you can see what you’re doing.
