Tow ball kit
Hi
This for Aus market with the fixed tow hitched that comes with our vehicle in this market.
Bit of an FYI for those interested.
I picked up the genuine tow ball kit from the service centre today.
There has been a known issue of the tow ball tongue rattling in the hitch.
They released a anti rattle bolt and shim kit to fit.
This can found under warranty with part ROVPLRT0277
I’ve seen other forum posts for people getting that kit under warranty.
My kit today included the bolt and shims by standard.

I put an M10 high tensile 25mm bolt in the threaded hole on the underside of the receiver, that seemed to work. The only thing that rattles now is those rental trailers I tow. Can't wait to get my own next month.

So I read today about someone who got a kit from LR with shims, anti-rattle bolt etc. His instructions stated that you must remove the anti-rattle bolt when towing and only use it for bike racks or when leaving hitch in receiver.
Everyone I know has the anti-rattle done up tight all the time.
Whats the skinny?

I've done my anti rattle bolt up tight like you say, and keep a ratchet and socket in the boot to tighten it up at times. The bolt does work its way loose with heavier loads.
