This is beginning to sound like something from a 60s TV sitcom. I contact LR Assistance who dispatch a recovery truck. The truck eventually arrives, but the winch cable is stuck on its drum. Eventually with my hellion the winch controls it is freed, and the Discovery winched onto the bed. off we set on a 60 km journey to the dealer. Twenty or so Km into the trip and there is a problem with the airbrake reservoir! So we pull over and wait for a fitter to come out to fix the problem. Eventually arrive at the dealer and a day later now waiting to hear what the problem is with the Discovery.
Good job I still have a sense of humour

So after about three days, I have an intermittent hood open warning (no it is fully closed), poor response to keyless exit, and a check engine light. It has been very cold today so lets see what happens next week. I find the 120km round trip to the dealers a little tedious but given they are the closest I have little choice. Ho hum.
At least I got to play in the snow after we had about 50 cm
