    Service indicator reset

    Hi

Had a service 3 weeks ago. Car only driven 30 Miles since due to the lockdown.

Started the car this morning and the service required indicator had come on. I assume this wasn't reset at the time of the service.

Is there anyway to reset this without a trip to the dealers....I'd rather avoid given the time and distance

    Thanks in advance

I believe you have to go through the dealers to do this as they should do it online as well, if you had it done elsewhere you can do it on the online service history website but i don't think that sorts the car out?
    I might be corrected thou.

    Thanks for the reply.

It was a main dealer so I'll give them a call. You would think re-setting the indicator would be easy enough for them to remember to do Smile

I’ve had this a number of times from them they always forget something, I now check before I leave to save any headaches.

    close all doors and bonnet.

press power but don't start the engine.

pull the bonnet lever to pop the bonnet and then open driver door

press down brake and accelerator for 60secs until you see "service reset"

turn power off, close drivers door.

start car and check service counter.

NB: There was a software update which messes up service reset counter on some D5, RRs and the DS where for some reason you cannot reset it.

I have a UK MY19 (facelifted) Disco 5 and if I try the two feet with the bonnet and door open, the dash tells me service interval is resetting / has been reset, but it doesn't do it...

Perhaps this is the bug mentioned above?

When it is reset, does it start with 16,000 miles? My vehicle has done approx. half that since the last main dealer service but it does not tell me that I have 8,000 left. Does it adjust the mileage based on use / other factors?

I was just about to suggest the above. I reset the interval with my IID tool at any rate but the old method is worth a try on D5's up to 2020...sometimes works, sometimes doesn't Sad
