Yup dust caps, i thought at first cufflinks, which would have been better, these will get pinched the first time the car is left -

I had too hacksaw off the metal ones on my subaru sti a few years ago all 4 of them. Nightmare. However rubbing vaseline on the thread and a small blob in the actual cap did the trick, as never had a problem after that
