Still no joy RoadRunner?
When I'm not in the operating theatre, I'm mountain biking, spending time with my family, running and socialising. I have a Discovery 5 HSE Lux with pretty much every option ticked. This is my first ever Land Rover. Been a rocky road with regards to reliability but we're getting there.

A colleague just bought a pre-reg Mercedes GLS350. With the discount they offered him it was about £14k cheaper than the D5 and with 8 miles on the clock it's pretty much a brand new car. Had a nose around it last night. Very impressive and decent 4x4 system underneath too.
Is it worth a look?

Thanks for that Doc. Well that's some hell of a saving. However makes me think about the resale residuals after 3 years when I trade my cars in as I dont have time for Mot's, plus am sure the Mercs value plummets quite a bit. Hmmmm food for thought certainly but I hate merc with a passion, both the cars and 4x4s. Just paying for the badge in my opinion and overpriced and overrated. Audi and BMW are on a par if not better than Merc in my opinion, but others may beg too differ

I think Merc went through a very bad patch when the old ML came out. The quality of this GLS is excellent to be fair. On a par with my BMW. He has a 350AMG line with rear entertainment etc. Paid £55000 for it.
I lost a chunk on my X5 too.
Thought it worth a mention.

Yes I am aware of the poor build on the Mercs plus were assembled in the USA, Alabama, with cheap plastics. Not what you expect from a so called luxury car manufacturer.
BMWs do drop like a lead balloon unfortunately especially the saloons, the 6 series I believe. Hence I have always stuck with LR and Subaru as residuals are alot better.
