D5 v D3
For all you guys who are now proud D5 owners, can you tell me how you would compare it to a D3 ?

Nicer to drive
more and newer toys
nicer cabin
better performance
should get into more multi storey car parks
dropping and raising seats is easier and faster although it wasn't a problem on the d3
not as good for adults on the second row
rear load space not as usable - narrows sharply about 8 inches from the bottom so realistically is nowhere near as wide
rear cubby space is useless, I used to carry a mini compressor, tow rope and set of jump leads. No space for any of these in the new one. I also still had space for the removable tow bar, luckily the new one is electric.

There is a space for a removable tow bar, its under the flap where you access the spare wheel winch. If you have the deployable tow bar then this space could be used to store tow ropes etc
As for difference between D3 and D5 they are totally different and cannot really be compared as they are so different.
D5 is really really nice place to be on a long drive, comfy heated and cooled seats, apps that work and allow you to do various tasks from your phone, smooth and quick to drive not sure about getting into more multi storey car parks as I think and find it bigger.
Don,t get me wrong the D3 is and always was a great car, I had one and know but the D5 is in a different league
Namib Orange 1st Edition with black roof and wheels.
Privacy, tow bar, drive pack, surround camera, heated front & rear seats, auto dim door mirrors, side steps, remote Pro, RSE, arm rest fridge dash cam front and rear.

I was never really worried about some of the niggles that were raised on the D3 Forum, as I very rarely have people in the back of the car, the seat issue isn't a problem. I never have large items that I need to transport, I don't have a dog so no huge dog cage and I never use multi storey car parks. My main concerns are for a good comfortable tow car.

I'd dismissed the storage space under the boot flap as useless.
just tried it and managed to stow:
compressor
tow strap
jump leads
spare number plate
