    Warranty

    What's everyone's thoughts on renewing the warranty on the D5

    Mine runs out in May and I have just had the renewal through the post and i'm not sure what to do

    your opinions welcome

    I bit the bullet last week and took the LR warranty out. Never taken a warranty out on a car in my life. There are 2 options and I chose the sightly more expensive one, at just over £1000.
    MY17 First Edition - 3L Diesel Td6 - Farallon Black - Roof rails,side steps,tints,tow bar,mudflaps,door strips.
    MY18 Hse Luxury - 3L Petrol Si6 Supercharged - Santorini Black - Roof rails,side steps,tints,tow bar,mudflaps,door strips,22's,dynamic pack 1,bonnet vents,t.v,dual view,frontcooler,360°camera,rear cooler/warmer,roof vane,black LR badges,wade sensing,door sill plates,boot liner, solar screen,wind deflectors,service plan,tracker,speed camera detector,dual dash cameras,ceramic coating.

    I just bought from warranty direct. £312 with the excess at £100. There was an option with no excess for about £420 as I recall.

    Went with landrover/assist this week.On the basis it will cut out the middleman if something goes wrong and hopefully more straightforward.but as in any insurance policy the proof of the pudding is in the eating

    Warranty Direct used to be the warranty of choice, but it’s changed hands recently,

    The LR warranty is expensive by comparison. But if you don’t take it out when the 3 years manufacturers warranty is up, then you can’t later. It does have the benefit of the main dealer claiming from them direct.

    However, I believe the LR warranty has exceptions. One is to D3/4 broken cranks as it’s deemed a manufacturing defect. Not sure about the D5. It’s a bit of a lottery tbh and you’ll only find out how good the warranty is when you come to claim. Just a bit of hard luck if they draw the line at fitting a new engine!

    If you go over the 3 year period, there is a £250 charge, as LR go over the car, before allowing you to take the warranty out, to check if there are no issues beforehand.

    I took out the LR warranty, although it is the most expensive it is the mast comprehensive. its claim limit was the best and I couldn't see any exclusions to claims except DPF.
    3.0 HSE. climate HUD active diff. elec towbar. FBH and timed climate.Capability plus pack.split TV. surround sound. Intelligent seating. adaptive lights, wade sensing. 360 cameras.pro pack.cooler.advanced tow, auto park,activity key+ more!!!!
